Description
History & Origin: Native to the arid desert regions of Mexico and southern Texas, Peyote holds a long cultural history deeply intertwined with indigenous spiritual ceremonies and traditional medicine.
Care & Maintenance Guide:
- Sun / Lighting: Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. Direct intense sunlight can cause sunscorch or discoloration.
- Watering: Extremely drought-tolerant. Water sparingly only when the soil has dried out completely; keep fully dry throughout the winter dormancy period.
- Soil Type: Needs a gritty, highly porous soil mixture predominantly made of inorganic pumice, coarse sand, and lava rock for optimal drainage.
- Nutrients & Fertilization: Apply a dilute, low-nitrogen cactus fertilizer once or twice during the active spring growth period.
